Is the Freelander 2 3.2 i6 HSE available in the UK or are they only made now for overseas markets? Can one be sourced for export? Freelander 2 SD4 HSE - Ipanema Sand - MD co-pilot - Springer Spaniel in boot - Swift Challenger on the back!

No longer available to purchase new in the UK and very few second hand ones around as they never took off here. Not sure if a LR dealer could source one for you? perhaps worth speaking to our site sponser James at Lookers Park Royal for assistance?

Yes, off the top of my head, production stopped for the UK in early 2008. Even in London it accounted for a very small percentage of sales, however if you remember the FL2 TD4 was only available with a manual gearbox initially, therefore I assume the i6 was offered as a stop-gap until the TD4 Auto was launched (with an bit of an overlap 07-08 ).

They are pretty quick however they are fairly thirsty compared to a TD4. Anyone doing a low mileage could buy a nice i6 HSE for the price of a GS/XS of the same vintage.

Not for me - just somone interested in exporting one VAT free. Probably better to get one when they land abroad - prices are usually cheaper anyway. I see that petrol LR2s are available in many places - are these made in the UK and exported? I've only been round Solihull and they don't make Freelander there - lots of turbocharged petrol RRS for export though! Must be great to live in a country where petrol isn't taxed at 75%!
