Question: What is the best "paste" to use to polish out glass chips

Here in Switzerland in our Kantone they spray very small pieces gravel on the roads and pavements in winter rather than salt to assist traction. Yesterday her Ladyship was out in her FL2 and a passing vehicle flicked up a couple of pieces of this gravel which impacted on the windscreen and on the nearside front passengers window.

The chips are very small but rough to touch, and the two on the windscreen are in the path of the wipers, so will potentially cut into the wiper blades reducing their efficiency. So is there any paste or polish I can use to smooth down these glass chips?

from what i have read there is no easy fix for this, there are kits availible but for machine polishing, as glass is that tough, by hand is near impossible
