right so, the garage called this afternoon and apparently they can't find anything! I said I didnt want it back until they did find what was wrong but now need to eat my words as i need it tomorrow to take my dog to the vets! Wont be using it Friday, sat or Sunday so will see if it starts Monday!

Watch this space, I feel this may not be over. Thanks for all suggestions

Have you double-locked it each time? If you don't press the button twice, or if you unlock and lock the tailgate, the car electrics won't shut down and the battery will drain. Standard problem on older cars, probably the same on the new ones?

I always garage mine and only single press to lock when its in there, been on 2 weeks holiday come back and starts fine, no battery problems, so I think that facts a non fact. I was only wrong once and thats when I thought I was but wasnt.

United Kingdom 2011 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Auto Santorini Black
Could be phone bluetooth

Happened to me twice recently, once overnight and once after being left for 8hrs at work. Both however were after long runs, 130 miles in daylight, so couldn't understand how battery was flat. First time; breakdown guy just jumped it and check battery was receiving charge, all OK.

Second time, I jumped it using a mates car. An then later that day had the battery check and it showed being in excellent condition and holding a full charge. Informed it must be something not turning off properly and to take it to main dealer. That was Thursday, though I'd check on here first before taking it to the main 'stealer'.

And reading post, has made me think. On both occasions this has happened to me, I had been using my phone on Bluetooth, and was still using it when I parked up and pressed start(off) button. Continued call and then when finished call, just ejected key and locked car up. Eight hours later flat battery. May just be a coincidence, but seems as good a reason as I'm likely to get from any main dealer, after they have messed about for a day or two.

Will ensure I disconnect phone before turning off in future and will let you know what happens.

I have read of this being an issue before so I think it's a good chance of being the cause of your problems.
