Hi Guys..

New to the forums, stumbled across you lot after buying a Freelander2.


Anyway..

Had my 08 Freelander2 HSE for a couple of weeks now, and only today have i stumbled across a camera over the left hand side of the rear number plate.

After a bit of research on the internet, i'm pretty sure it is a camera, but no idea if it works, or how it works?

Could it be that it was just installed at factory, but never used.?

What do i need to make it work.?

Any help would be much appreciated.

No rear view cameras as factory install in 08

But they have just launch trailair which has a rearview camera built into the rear view mirror


Most likely some sort of aftermarket one that the previous owners taken for his new car, just could be bothered to remove the panels for the camera removal

I'm not that bothered about having one, the reversing sensors are good enough for me, i just didn't want to be missing out if it was fitted and all i needed to do was push a button on the SatNav screen.

Do you think there would of been a seperate screen fitted somewhere in the car connected to the camera? I must admit there isn't any signs of anything being removed before sale..(screw holes, glue marks etc..)

I'm the second owner, and it was bought from a main dealer.

You car may have had an aftermarket head unit fitted with a touch screen set up which was replaced with the original L/R unit when sold on???
