I think the next thing to check will be to what the 12N plug is connected to, has it wires going to it and trace the wires back, it may not have the LR wiring kit connected p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior |

your mobilechicanephobia does make me chuckle For a free country, it does seem pretty expensive these days. |

If the wiring is connected, maybe the previous owner didn’t have the ECU programmed. Apparently, I’m told that nothing will work until the L/R dealer programmes the ECU. Broke my heart when I had to pay the dealer to fit and programme my towbar ££££££££££££s. |

I bought my 2007 GS TD4 second hand last August from a L/R dealer in North Wales and even the salesman wasn’t aware that the towbar electrics needed programming into the ECU until he asked the Service Dept (otherwise I would have fitted the lot myself, fitted loads to cars over the years).

I've had a quote of £44 plus VAT. I accept this, but what i wanted to do was check the 'box' works without the need to nip to the dealer |

I have posted this several times, I fitted my own towbar & 13 pin electrics, the only thing that did not work was the automatic turning off the rear parking sensors.
