freelander 2 power steering warning light

i have a 57 plate freelander2 model s and the power steering warning light has just started to come on.the car has only done 28000 miles,any ideas.

ok, I would wait to see if any posts give you advice and also have a look through the forum on that topic, and then it may be a visit to the dealer if it's still under warranty.

does the steering feel normal ?

What power steering warning light? Question Question Question
There is no such thing...
Not even a sensor for low steering fluid...

How did the symbol looks?

It was an orange steering wheel with an exclamation mark next to it.

Bellow are the symbols that are shown on the workshop manual for IC...
Where did your symbol appeared?
That symbol you are talking about, is generally used on vehicles with electrical assisted power steering.
The FL2 has a pure mechanical power steering system.

the symbol is a amber steering wheel with an exclamation sign beside it

Never heard/seen of such a symbol on any Freelander 2...
Maybe others did seen it and could tell us?...

out of interest, where was it displayed, using the above pic as reference? For a free country, it does seem pretty expensive these days.

the steering wheel symbol comes between the 21 +23 symbols on your picture.could it be a symbol for the diesel particulate filter?

freelander 2 amber steering wheel symbol warning light.

the above warning light is an amber steering wheel symbol with an exclamation mark to its right.it sits on the warnings screen between the transmission warning light and the screenwasher level warning symbol.

Could you please make a picture with the mobile phone or something when happens again?

I am very curious about this lamp because I know that FL2 has a pure mechanical steering system with no electrical involvment. Not even a low steering fluid warning.
And I've looked on all user's handbooks, from 2007 till 2010 and neither one mention this warning lamp.
Neither the workshop manual.
