I think the next thing to check will be to what the 12N plug is connected to, has it wires going to it and trace the wires back, it may not have the LR wiring kit connected Thumbs Up p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior

your mobilechicanephobia does make me chuckle For a free country, it does seem pretty expensive these days.

If the wiring is connected, maybe the previous owner didn’t have the ECU programmed. Apparently, I’m told that nothing will work until the L/R dealer programmes the ECU. Broke my heart when I had to pay the dealer to fit and programme my towbar ££££££££££££s.

Please tell me this is not true???
I've just bought a 2nd Hand, 13 pin electrics with a view to fitted a towbar in better weather. I did think of plugging in the electrics to test them with a trailer board. As it was bought off flea bay i just wanted to check i havent bought a dud Smile

I bought my 2007 GS TD4 second hand last August from a L/R dealer in North Wales and even the salesman wasn’t aware that the towbar electrics needed programming into the ECU until he asked the Service Dept (otherwise I would have fitted the lot myself, fitted loads to cars over the years).

Worth having a look at the Witter towbar web site. They changed the site recently but seem to remember it stated something like ‘dealer coding is compulsory’.

I think the dealers normally quote half an hours labour to programme the ECU but worth a call to check (and haggle).

Regards,

Chris

I've had a quote of £44 plus VAT. I accept this, but what i wanted to do was check the 'box' works without the need to nip to the dealer Sad

I have posted this several times, I fitted my own towbar & 13 pin electrics, the only thing that did not work was the automatic turning off the rear parking sensors.

I press the switch on the dash to turn them off and they are as quite as a mouse.

Electric Kit "Right Connections 2919050500RC" What if there were no hypothetical situations?
