Happy Days - prices have gone through the roof

I paid 15k for my FL2 SE 22,000 miles december 2009.
Just called the dealer back, and they offered over the phone £15k.
even though it now has 38,000 miles.

HAPPY DAYS..

I'd take the dealers offer to be honest.

Dont go for the Beckham Chariot, despite what people think, it's the Titanic of the motor world, it's just the crew and some of the passengers dont realise it at the moment.

Why do you say this? Don't put petrol in a diesel. They don't run well.

It's an opinion, albeit I am sure I am right. I am not knocking anyone who likes it. There must be some.

No point in getting into a heated debate over the pros and cons of the car, other than to say it's far too expensive and veers away from what LR do best. As I said before, it's like an overgrown Ford Focus.

On the subject of veering away from their usual MO, I wonder how well the 2WD FL2 is selling? To me it seems like a toe in the water thing. For a free country, it does seem pretty expensive these days.

United Kingdom 2010 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto Rimini Red

I paid £18900 plus c.£700 for extras for my current car, two years and 18000 miles ago. a 57 plate, 1 year old, auto SE, 6000 miles on the clock
Today I accepted £18000! New car is 7mths old, under 4000 miles, ex demonstrator MY10, auto HSE, £27850, plus £600 for extras, new it was c.£36k
So I am pleased with myself!
I guess I bought at the bottom of the market, I remember passing Halewwod on the train soon after and there were thousands of FL2's parked up. Upgraded to an ex demo, 7 mth old, Rimini Red/Ebony Napoli Auto HSE on 28th Jan 2011, added roof rails, mudflaps and side strips.
Gone - A great 57 Plate, Auto SE, Bought Feb 2009, Roof Rails and Mudflaps added on purchase. Blue colour, anything but drug dealer black.....

Yes, in those times, May 2008 you could get a new GS with metallic paint and privacy OTR for 18k! I dont suppose LR was selling them at a loss, subsidised perhaps, makes you think.

That said, it's all about the change price. The Stealer could give me a quid for mine if they were just charging two quid. Likewise, if they could give me 40k for mine, geat if theirs was only 41k. It's all realtive. You are still parting with 10k, for a HSE as compared to a SE, not much model difference, which is a lot of money.

Yep, no point really. I bet 99% of those sold will be debadged prior to the school run being undertaken. Yet another LR error, but unfortunately, they might sell a few as it's cheaper.

Its only relative if you are swapping a 4x4 for a 4x4 - imagine if you swapped you FL2 for a soft top now and then in the summer swapped back again - surely your gonna be quids in Whistle Freelander 2 TD4 Auto, SE, Narvik Black, Alpaca full leather, Rear Headrest Entertainment System, 6 CD, 18 HSE Wheels, Privicy tints
