England 2009 Freelander 2 TD4_e HSE Manual Santorini Black
10 for cash/ offroad essentials

Had my 30000 mile service done a couple of days ago by 10 forcash and wanted to show my support and thanks. He arrived promptly at my home and carried out a thourough service keeping me updated as he went along of any issues that needed attention. An enjoyable experience and far less painful than a trip to the dealers both in terms of stress and finance.
Car is going great ... Roll on the next 15000 miles

Are you willing to divulge the cost of the work and parts?

Bill, I think 10forcash is quoting 260 for the 3rd year service.

You can contact him by phone. The number is on his web site. Search Offroad Essentials.

That said, I'll be seeing him tomorrow.

Dunroof,
Thanks for that,I took out the service plan with my supplying dealer and got a good discount for paying for all 3 service covered by the warranty period in advance (don't ask! The money was available at the time) which worked out at approx £320.00 each.

Seemed like a good idea at the time but had serious problems as dealer is some 50 miles away from home and of course the cost of fuel increased massively, the loan car was only a Ford Fiesta (we can't afford to have Freelander's as loan cars).

Service department only average with a big problem on first service and 3rd service over reversing sensors.
Will not be returning now car is out of warranty, so will contact 10forcash when next service due.

Will not name dealer but they are in North Wales next to a Castle.

No problem Bill, I'll mention you to him. He certainly gets 100% repeat custom and importantly knows what he is doing. A lot of people say their cars run a lot better after one of his services.

I was asking him about the big Terrain Response Control Retrofit debate and he's going to look at it. He's 50/50 if it can be done, but if it can, he thinks it's down to reprogramming various ECU's rather than hardware, although that is what I took from him and could stand to be corrected.

He does various retro fits, rear parking sensors, cruise control, but to name a couple. He's taking a look at a front PDC retrofit for me tomorrow and I haven't even got the new PDC bumper on!

Hi Dunroof, slightly off topic, but as TFC goes around his business tomorrow could you pick his brains on additional spot lights for the FL2 and whether the spots from the new Disco 4 would retro fit to the FL2. I know his knowledge and opinion counts a lot on the Disco 3 site so thought it would be worth asking him
Thanks Toeknee

Yes, no problem, I've printed it off, so will give to him to ponder. I am seeing him up at the D3/4 Kielder event. I think one or two are booked in so to speak as he is normally down south.

Some people are camping out at the Borders Caravan Park! Shocked That said, maybe they said they were Campers, which today means something totally different.

Dunroof
One is either "Camp" or one is a "Camper" Wink

Me - I'm as bent as a 4 Speed Walking Stick, so that enables me to squat in either camp Very Happy

Thanks, Thumbs Up I did the Kielder event last year great day out, make sure you take some lunch as there’s nothing at the lunch stop ( we being first timers expected full on café / pub ) I’m sure Ian (Flinty99 ) will have a good route planned for the day

Yes, I think over 30 are going, should be good and put faces to names. Some die hards with Defenders and green tents to boot! They probably drink battery acid and shave with a rusty razor, eat beans round the campfire, like out of Blazing Saddles. Now where is the nearest posh Hotel?

I asked 10forcash about retroing D4 spots for the FL2 and he doesn't have an answer. He said like a lot of things, it's suck it and see.

I know from others there, a few on the D3/4 site have actially fitted D4 front seats in a FL2. I was offered FL2 heated electric seats for my FL2 on the basis people had a spare set now the had D4'd it. Strange, but true.
