the fact that you have confirmation of what you bought and how much you paid is in your favour.

There are many misconceptions as to consumer laws as proven by the people who keep quoting the supply of goods and services act on the forum, That old myth that if an item had a sign on at a certain price they must honour it-not true they can withdraw it from sale for any number of reasons (they don't need to issue a reason) one being it was erroneously price marked, Unfortunately I think in the case in question only a matter of goodwill will make them honour the contract, they are within their rights to issue a refund including postage and withdraw the Shadows from sale at the earlier price. Any minute now......call watchdog.....trading standards........consumer direct etc... blah blah They can't be forced to do anything by any one except them selves to save face/reputation and this is the line i would go down |

I'm reasonably sure that if you have an order confirmation, and they have taken the money from your account, and you can demonstrate (should it get that far) that your genuine belief was that the price the item was sold at was genuine, they're required to fulfil their side of the contract - essentially once they've taken your money it's different from "pricing mistake, sorry but we can't sell it at that price".

Many sites have a disclaimer burred somewhere within, which in essence states that they can make honest mistakes on pricing and not honor them. |

Update - over weekend I sent Hammonds a copy of cached webpage from time of order and received phone call and email this morning saying Hammonds accept responsibility and will collect TS's at time of delivering my SC's.

Probably a good idea to change the thread title then, as if they have come good it could be seen as slander. Don't put petrol in a diesel. They don't run well. |

might be an idea to look at SOGA website. SWMBO bought some earings at 1.99 they were real diamond studs RRP £199 the young spotty assitant had the decimal point inthe wrong place.. she was with her mate and only bought one pair however the shop changed the price on the earrings faster than the £2 came out of the purse shame though i would have bought the shops whole stock and mad a hansome profit.
