If you want a technical explanation then" Alex" on here is your best man. All I can say to you is that yes, the system does sometimes Stop and Start seemingly within seconds, and, that that is perfectly normal - nothing to worry about.

i have the same problem, my stop start doesnt work, also the little light that used to tell me when to change gear doesnt come on either - its booked in with farnell on friday

Is there a quick way, without a visit to the dealer, to disable the stop/start? I often forget to over ride it via the dash switch and I would be happier without it altogether.I`m thinking of the solution to switching off the seat belt warning.
ps I live in the country without lots of traffic.

Simple answer is No - you cannot permanently switch it off.

You could always connect the switch to a siren so it sounds when it comes on and reminds you to switch off .

My stop/start was not working when I purchased the car in May. Checked the battery it was reading 12.1 volts.
Replaced with new Exide battery £150 eurocarparts. System now works fine

Mine works in mild weather, in this heat wave we are having its not worked when the temperature has been above 20.
