Debadging rear

Am I correct in thinking that, like most cars, the Freelander and spec badges on the tailgate are just stuck on and require only a bit of work with dental floss to remove?

Mine have been removed by the former owner with no marks I would suggest hot water first before pulling off and then a good polish Thumbs Up

You've done this before, haven't you! For added quickness, use a hairdryer.

Reminds me when the dog had a cyst removed by the vet. Flourpot on animals head, but he chewed the stitches out. Back to the vet, same thing happened within the hour. Vet then put in staples, the dog had them out too, same night. I'd had enough at this point and took the dental floss and a needle out. I went thro' the same holes, the dog never got them out and it flossed his teeth at the same time, so two birds were killed with one stone. Plus when they had to come out, I did it myself, well I am not sure the vet would not have approved and they came out a dream.

The moral of the story is dental flosss is very versatile.

Yeah, I have a drawers full of 'plastic chrome' badges Smile

Bizarrely I don't like them cluttering the rear end of the car but seem quite happy with them cluttering my house. Rolling Eyes

Yes.
I'm thinking of de-badging mine. A word of caution from a local body shop though...they cost quite a bit to change your mind later Sad

Pics when you've finished?

No they dont, there is only a bit of sticky double sided narrow tape on them. Buy it from Halfords and trim it down and/or fleabay had a few for sale, pick your variant.

I remeber I got one LR ordered Debadged, the next I had to take it or wait for another build slot, which seemed excessive. I sat there with the dental floss and hairdryer and got a shock when it came away after 10 seconds. Polished it up for a few seconds and that was it.

Yes, that would be good too. It was SWMBOS dental floss, so more enjoyable when she found out and hit the roof!
