Disco3 off road day, Tong 20th March 2011

As per this thread, CFB is organizing another off road day

http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic59821.html

I guess to keeps it simples, contact CFB or use the above thread for questions and sign ups

Anyway this is what's planned

CFB wrote:
Following the good level of interest shown I have now booked the venue (Parkwood Off Road Centre) for an off-road driving day for forum members on Sunday March 20th from 10.00 - 16.00

This will be open to forum members only (will be open to the sister sites), sorry no friends, relatives etc in other makes of 4x4 this time. The D3 club will also be there on the day.

No tuition will be provided so this event is more suited to those with some experience of taking their D3 off road although the site is suitable for relative novices too

Site Info

Parkwood is an extremely varied site with something for everyone, access tracks are loose gravel surfaces and easily driven in any vehicle. The off-road tracks are graded as to the level of difficulty;

Blue - Suitable for all 4x4's

Red - Intermediate, must be walked/assessed in advance and may require a
spotter for tricky sections.

Black - Challenging routes, higher risk of damage, AT/MT tyres only and recovery
equipment needed

Families welcome to comer along and food/toilet facilities will be available

Cost is £40 which includes a site donation.

The site is maintained constantly so all the Blue routes should be FL2 friendly, as ever though there can be no guarantees, the weather will play a part and it will be down to the drivers to assess the routes Thumbs Up

PS Think I passed you the other day in your new motor (I have a red D2 and Dark Blue D1 with Parkwood logos on)

Turn out so far is very disappointing, only 8 on Disco 3 have confirmed. We need 20 otherwise it's not viable so if anyone fancies getting their wheels muddy please sign up and come along for a run round the site.

All the off-road tracks are easily bypassed so you don't have to venture into anything that you don't fancy, that said there is plenty of terrain to explore in an FL2 that will just get your wheels muddy and no more Thumbs Up

i need to swap wheels to my second set, this will do two things

free my road going set to be able to be properbly cleans and sealed and second stop them, from been scratched if i venture off too fair off the beaten track

Also, need to check the second set's tread depth on the rear tyres

but if i have machine polished the car, and got it all sorted i would not want to offroad it, at the moment though i am swaying towards going Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis
