The Honda CRV (which I almost bought, but didn't thank the Lord) had a nice feature of split shelf in the rear.

The CRV shelf hinges so that you can lift it.

It allowed two layers of shopping bags, mountain bike kit, knitting patterns to be piled in the back.

Has any one seen an after market version yet of something similar yet?

If not, does anyone know what the rear load area floor material is made from and where I could buy it please?

It seems nice and light and stiff and I may go and make a split shelf myself.

funsmart made a shelf that rolled out, maybe able to do similar with the extra level you need

The load cover in mine has a carbon fibre look to it, but i presume it will just be plain old plastic/fibreglass Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Ill put it on my list of 'things to do'

A weekend of faffing with the jig saw and some strong epoxy should do it.

The main challenge will be how to support the shelf at the back end. It could rest on buffers on the wheel archers at the front sides but at the back I would have to put some kind of shelf tabs into the side panels or put legs on it.

I may cover it in crushed velvet to give it that HSE feel.
