I don't know as I haven't got my FL yet but surely you can just delete the car bluetooth pairing on your phone so it doesnt try and connect. I'm guessing there must be a way to unpair form the car end too but like I wouldn't know that.

Your phone should be set up as discoverable (sounds like it is) and should be able to be "paired" with the car's bluetoooth system. Have a look at your phone manual to check on how to set up "pairing" so that you don't get the request on your phone every time you drive it.

And weirdfish is right -cancelling the pairing, turning off bluetooth on the phone, or making your phone undiscoverable on the phone will stop all the requests plus make a boost to your battery life.

Sorry for a quick thread hijack, but anyone know if HTC desire will pair up ok? For a free country, it does seem pretty expensive these days. |

HTC Desire has worked ok for me, no problems at all......Do you know about the bit of the LR website where you put in part of your vin and it advises you as to the status of phone models, by make, then model? Look for Bluetooth on the site.... Upgraded to an ex demo, 7 mth old, Rimini Red/Ebony Napoli Auto HSE on 28th Jan 2011, added roof rails, mudflaps and side strips.

That is a phone setting. My Nokia has a setting in the Bluetooth menu "Auto connect" which is turned on |

My HTC Hero (Android 2.1) paired automatically. Works perfectly My BlackBerry Bold needed a firmware update to show phonebook names, but paired OK, made calls and answered calls but displaying numbers only with a many-versions-old ("not compatible"; Landrover website) firmware Landrover website will tell you what will work and what won't. Can switch between my two phones at will from car audio system. Pairing both my phones was an (unexpected) part of the new car handover at Farnall 4x4 Trevor '60 reg SD4 XS (long gone!) |
