A friendly reminder, just heard on radio 3 that the police have now closed the window for driving with snow on the cars. They now have said they will be actively hunting cars with snow on, If stopped its 60 quid and 3Points

And tying this in to The Doctors posting about helping out around Derbyshire, and the pic of his car back at home;- It is also an offence to obscure your number plates!!! - just something else they could make money on.

I saw a small van with that amount of snow on its roof, for a second it thought, were the bloody hell have you been to get that amount, then i realised it was a camper van, with its pop top roof mound

same can be said for tail-lights, i was following a car last night with what I thought was no lights on until I got close and noticed it was the amount of snow / frost stuck to them! At the end of the day if I went into the back of him it would be my fault as I wouldnt be able to prove his lights were obscured at the time. |

When I did see the fine warning it was via facebook and I did think it was a spam message, same as those about getting a note saying you missed a parcel and its a premium rate call etc

The greater hazard is ice from the roofs of lorries when it starts thawing. Remember there are never problems, just new challenges |

Is fact in Scotland. Police up here gave a 3 day warning that any driver with snow on the roof that they considered dangerous would receive a £60 fine and 3 point on their licence. ______________________
