My old Honda had the film tints, not bad reasonably priced (£200) compared to factory fitted glass (£400) but I had to have one of the back windows re-tinted three times, once becaused it bubbled (after 6 weeks, caused by a spec of dirt being trapped during the film being applied), and the other two times because the kids damaged the film!!

Apart from the usual `scratching` and affixing problems associated with film privacy glass, factory fitted privacy glass shows the orange heater elements on the side and rear windows dulled, ie, they are not so visible, whereas with the film the heater elements appear as bright orange stripes. I prefer the factory fitted privacy glass, and opted for a two month wait because of this. But hey, it (should) arrive a month on saturday. |

Pentagon glass tints are meant to be amongst the best after-market tints, only trouble is despite e-mailling them for a quote 3 times they have never replyed to me |

Isn't it Pentagon which is also a security film, I wanted to go for this rather than factory fit for security reasons. I will try them as well, and see if I can get a reply.

That's the one. Though as somebody else oh here pointed, unless you actually leave valuables in the car or live somewhere where carjacking is a real problem, is security film worth it? It serves no deterrent value. Sure, it stops the window smashing, but you're still left with a broken window. Less picking bits of glass out of the upholstery I suppose. I think Pentagon prefer to speak to you on the phone to discuss quotes which is why I'm guessing they're ignoring my e-mails (bad customer service though), so if you do get a quote I'd be very interested to hear what it is. |

That might be considered dangerous by some! Do you need a guide dog to pull the car now then? Last edited by Gambba on 21st Aug 2007 11:23 am. Edited 1 time in total |
