What did my car cost new?

Hi

I just wondered if anyone knows of anywhere i can find how much the original purchase price of my car was,
I need this for the company i am due to start work for, they need to know this to work out my car allowance as they pay up to £25% of its value at new, As my car is 3 yr old and i bought it second hand i have no idea what it cost new.
thanks in advance for any help Thumbs Up

Hi

If you go to http://www.whatcar.com/valuations and put in the details it not only tells you what your car is worth now but also what it cost new.

Hope this helps. Smile Andyfr

Is it correct that for company car tax, only the basic (no Extras) RRP list price is calculated-even if you paid significantly below list?

I believe not, company car tax is based upon the TOTAL cost of the vehicle including extras. However you can always take the chance and accidently forget to mention the extras, not that i did that some years ago or anything Whistle

Just had a play with the calculator and it seems to show a large variance in S/H prices between colours. Mine reports it has lost around £4500 in the 7 months I've owned it, without allowing for the extras but, if I would have bought a black FL2, I would have apparently lost £14500 almost half its value in just 6 months. Shocked

Different thing than company car tax which the OP is asking

Iirc they'll get 25% of it's which is normally taxable

Company car tax is worked out on total cost if car inc any extras, so if you went out and your company said here's £30000 and you went and bought a old FFRR you pay on its new value, totally shocking way of doing if you ask me

It's why I opted out of having a company car

Allowance can work in your benefit, a friend of mine opted out and runs a nice sporty golf, and with what they give him on his allowance he made £250-£300 a month Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis
