United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Auto Zermatt Silver
A couple of questions

Hello all,

I'm looking to buy an FL2, but not sure which spec to order, so would appreciate some feedback.

My local dealer recently took me to their Land Rover Experience centre (http://www.landroverexperience.uk.com/) for an afternoon (FOC!) of off-roading in the FL2. The demonstration models were all TD4 HSE's with the commandshift gearbox.

I must say, I was really smitten by the cars abilities and the gearbox, but wanted to know if anyone here hand the commandshift and whether they'd experienced any problems?

Also, I'm not sure whether spec to buy. I'm probably going to buy nearly new se or hse depending on what's available for my cash budget (about £25k). Does anyone know where I can get access to ex-demonstrators?

Thanks in advance for your responses.

Martin

I've just had back my ex-dealer demo after two months and five trips to the garage, if you can get a new model that will hopfully have the early problems resolved.

SE or XS

I guess the model choice depends on both your budget and the essential extras you want (e.g. some of the basic models do not have the option of sat nav). Several reviews have rated the GS model, because it's not too expensive and does include terrain response. I chose the SE because I wanted both sunroof and sat nav, plus the many other goodies included, though I would not have gone as far as the HSE. If you're not interested in sunroof or sat nav then the XS would seem a good bet. Thumbs Up

I DO have the auto gearbox, which is extremely smooth and impressive in all it's modes Smile
Life is not a dress rehearsal!
