United Kingdom 2011 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Auto Stornoway Grey

Been driving around in all the snow and ice on General Grabber UHPs.

Had new set on front in Nov and put 2 new ones on back just before worst of the snow as the Wranglers on back (with 4 - 5mm tread left) were absolute rubbish in it (and YES, I was driving slowly and carefully!) - the treads just filled up with snow and it was like having slicks on - Grabbers MUCH better and would recommend them.

Has made winter more expensive than I hoped but didn't really want an close-up experience with a bank/tree/telegraph pole...£196 for pair fitted etc at Micheldever Tyres so not as painful as it might have been.

United Kingdom 2013 Freelander 2 TD4_e XS Manual Firenze Red

Just been looking down the road watching the snow thaw and flow in to the drains. I reflected on how the FL2 came into its own in this winter bout. (I ride on Pirelli Scorpion Zeros) Both car and tyre kept us mobile without so much as a slide or a wheel spin over the December snow and ice. We were never confined to drive or car park. It made Christmas so much easier to cope with. Thanks to both manufacturers. Firenze Red XS TD4 01/2013 . Averaging 1800 miles per month. My 5th Freelander in 11 years. Devotee?

Norway 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Manual Tambora Flame

M+S tyres doesn't come close to a set of proper winter tyres. The grip is one thing, but the stopping power is more important imo.
The Nokian Hakkapelliita Stud tyres are the best! Smile
No chance of running M+S her in Northern Norway anyways so. FL2, TD4 HSE
The flaming Orange!

England 2011 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Manual Baltic Blue

Standard fit Continental 235/65/17 and had no problems with the snow. But then they've only done 1000 miles so are still blessed with a good tread depth.
