Daytime Running Lights

Although the facelift FL2 doesnt come with daytime running lights am i right in thinking that any sold after February 2011 must have them fitted by the manufacturer?

I have heard some people say its only cars new to the market that must have them fitted (ie they were designed to have them) but I have read that ANY new vehicle purchased after February 2011 must have them fitted by the manufacturer (not retro-fitted). This being the case would the FL2 have new headlamps or would they be incorporated into the square foglamps? Surely LR should have incorporated DRL in the facelift knowing this law was cominng into action in Feb? Now - 2017 BMW X3 M Sport Carbon Black
Gone - 2014 BMW X3 M Sport Space Grey, faultless!
Gone - 2011 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Bali Blue with xenons
Gone - 2008 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Rimini Red with bodykit

I've been told by a dealer that they are not expecting any to be added, and they just switch the side lights on like they do in countries were required already Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

No, but seen a mod on the D3 site. It involves hairdryers and splitting the lens away from the main body of the headlight. Sounded a bit extreme on honesty although the result was good.

Unfortunatley, the D3 is an easier can to muck about with headlights and a lot of other things than is the FL2.

I reckon that they may incorporate DRL's on the front fog lights, it has been pointed out to me by another member, so I have had a look at the facelift model, around the front fog lights are little blanking panels that could house DRL's.
