United Kingdom 2011 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Rimini Red
New FL2 (MY11) Gallery shots wanted!!

I'm considering changing - again - thats considering not changing.

Had a look at a coupleof MY11 in the dealers and though that cadbury purple one was nice but seena few more and now I'm not sure. I'm sure it will look dated in a few years time.

Can anyone tell me where I can find some shots of any MY11 Fl2 in Rimini Red, Baltic Blue and Galway Green all without any Bling (This might make it look different??) to help make my mind up.

Dealer says White is favourite again but from the number of cadbury purple (Bali Blue?) ones I've seen it looks like it could be close.

Anyone got an opinion on buying a 'GS' or an 'S' and speccing up to same standard when it comes to re-sale in the future?

Help - I've got too much choice and too many questions!! Embarassed

I did think about this before getting mine. The conclusion I came to was that residual values are based on models and only a small percentage of the extras are taken into account. So an S even with every option will still not be worth as much as a basic GS. Only someone in the trade would be able to give an accurate answer as to values.

I went for a Stornoway Grey GS auto 2011MY and I'm loving it! Only done a little over 100 miles so far though. Andyfr

Thanks Chaps - some useful suggestions here!

The problem I have is that although some colours are easy to pick out e.g Rimini because it is the only Red - there are issues with some of the darker colours when photographed and it isn't always quite obvious which Blue and which Green is being pictured - the darker colours can look quite similar. The pictures on the web aren't always what the title says - some of the images returned in McP's search are not MY2011 (not your fault!) and I know that some colours have been phased out between models (There was a 'better' blue available in the 2010MY range for instance). It would be good to a definitive view.

How about a seperate thread to show an example of each colour from each MY for reference?

WDYT?? There's always a way forward!

Dropped in to Weatherly Service this afternoon and parked up a corner was a FL2 in Martinique Blue. Well I think it was that colour very nice Thumbs Up , covered in mud so look like the owner knows what their doing with it, definitely a colour to think about when it comes to replacing ours (In about 5ys if the Mrs is reading this)

Hi toeknee / McP - visited aforementioned Mr Farnell today to see his Baltic D4 - not impressed. Apparently Martinique Blue went out in 2008 so definitely none for MY2011. So I though rimini looked a clear winner but then I say a RRS in Ipanema Sand........ RRS similar shape to FL2 and I thought it looked good... Spoke to wifey when I got home. Her opinion - that's Beige - its an old man's colour!. Sorry - didn't mean to offend anyone but she speaks as she finds - and I like that!!

Now, I know that I'm not cool enough for black (as per CG's note) Bow down but Am I old enough to drive around in a beige car?

The new FL2 brochure has them all through so they are obviously pushing it as a colour. What the genaral concensus - it obviously suits the car?

Rimini is looking favourite still but dealer will have to work on his prices.

Does any one know if the price quoted as 'balance' on an APP stays the same no matter what I negotiate the full price as? Will any negotiation just result in me paying the same at the end of the two years? Help appreciated. Been quotes a figure >£10k after two years grace period.

Your comments, as always, are always welcome

The 5.9% deal on APP's makes tis the cheapest option by far and with the bank base rate at 5.49% they can't be making any thing on this. There's always a way forward!

Also looked at the 'Beige' one... nice in the literature, although I think it will date terribly and look very washed-out over-time. Big Cry

I always remember that infamous quote from Theo Paphitis on Top Gear, when he described Peter Jones' "beige" Maybach as "Jewish Racing Gold" Shocked

Personally I always think about resale value when choosing colour and stick with something safe Thumbs Up
