I have always wondered how good the FL2 is when tackling floods, well today I gained a bit of insight. It wasn't too bad and normal cars got through but very steadily and they had to be careful not to enter the deep parts. I sent a tidal wave over a focus that was sat waiting to go through in the other direction (not intentionally) but the best bit was the merc. There was a merc c-class tailgating me as we approached the flood (I was taking it steadyish) and he was shaking his head as if to say hurry up you tw t. He had not seen the flood and when I ploughed in he nearly sh t himself. He learnt a harsh lesson about tailgating.

I did not get to film the guy unfortunately but my mate in the passenger seat got admittedly poor quality video footage of us going through in both directions. See the following links:

I'm not sure I'd be too proud if my road manners were like that. Interesting to see if other forum members think you were Hero or Zero.

For a FL2 I think that was more of a puddle than deep water.

You might want to read up on how to drive through deep water in case you find deeper puddles - here's a clue - slower!

I drove my FL1 through a proper flood and I know the key is to drive much slower than that. Trust me, this is not as fast as the video suggests. It was safe as nobody was passing in the other direction and only a bit of a wave got the focus, nothing detrimental.

I doubt the driver of the Focus was impressed. Is'nt there a thread on here regarding water leaking into the footwells which can be caused by hitting deep puddles at speed and forcing a grommet to become dislodged in the bulkhead.

I glanced at him as we left the flood and he was smiling. The wave that hit his car was less than he will cause by going through and I can assure you that as the driver, things were well in control. No danger and the puddle was not hit at too high a speed despite how the video shows it. The car pushed the water away in front quite smoothly.

Too fast for my liking (pref10-15mph) but its your car.

You cannot be blamed if your car can cope with the state of Britains roads an the other mototists mode of transport can't.
