I knew I could do it! My cousin was considering part chopping his X-Trail for the lastest model but after some talking and a test drive in my FL2 he decided to go to the local dealership for a look around. The dealer tried to convince him to order a MY11 but I told him not to bother with the 'facelift' and get the MY10. He wisely purchased a manual MY10 GS with cold climate pack like mine but in that nice blue/purple colour. It had only just come in from another dealer and wasn't even on the website. After some arguing he paid £22k and it had 12k miles on the clock. Picks it up next week

I met him at the dealership after finishing work and parked my FL2 right next to a MY11 and I am so glad I did not wait and order it. First time I have seen one in the flesh and although it is nice, it looks as though they should have released them the other way round. Stood side by side the MY10 is more striking with the more aggressive front grill and I have now decided that the boot handle is hideous on the MY11. No offence to anyone who has bought one, each to their own and although I will wait for the FL3, I could not resist a sit in the HSE Disco 4 in the showroom. If only I could save up enough....

Best you can get is 5% discount off a D4 list. Still 34k for a 3lt GS aint bad, Just trade in your FL2 and get the rest on a 2 year promotional deal.

I won't be swapping for ages yet cos I have only had the FL2 since April and am well pleased with it. I do love the Disco 4 though and would certainly check out finance packages when my finance is up. I am also curious about the RRS TDV8 but will need to win some money to enter that territory.

Either that or finish my law degree and eventually get a job as a lawyer in a bid to increase my income to RR territory
