Stone the Crows!! A warning to all!!

Crows..... yes thats right CROWS have attacked my car (and the Mercedes ML across the road - along with that guys hot tub and UPVC windows) and made a right old mess of the door window rubbers Big Cry

Whilst its cosmetic damage - beak scratches - its chuffing driving me mad looking at it!! Sad

Any ideas on a product to at least make things look a bit better. Im not sure Back to Black is going to sort this one!!

Failing that - dare I ask (well I havent dare ask a LR Dealer) anyone got any idea on cost/possibility to replace.... Oh god not sure I want an answer to that!! Laughing

BE ON YOUR GUARD THE CROWS ARE OUT THERE AND THEY HAVE A TASTE FOR IT!!! 'Freddie' FL2 2007 GS, Sumatra Black, Manual

I am not sure if Mr Hitchcock is still a forum member, I think he went and got a Reliant Robin Whistle

I don't think there is much you can do to stop them, If the birds are nesting on council land have a word with them to see if they can disrupt the nests or buy a .22 air rilfe Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Erm we have the crows in hand......... Wink Having said that they wont Censored off!!

Ive just spoken to the Igrox man at work and apparently he was called in by one of his clients to crows attacking a Range Rover so it could be a Land Rover thing!! Laughing

Its more the trying to cover/improve the damage!!

My dad got some plastic polish which was originally for polishing scratches out of mobile phones - that was recommended for the rear soft top windows of MX5's and worked for that so I might give it a go and see what happens - but these are more rubbery than plastic.

I didnt know if anyone had tried anything that worked - there is a previous post regarding the removal of marks on these - but there doesnt seem to be any resolution Sad 'Freddie' FL2 2007 GS, Sumatra Black, Manual

In New Zealand they det problems with the Kia (the bird not the car) - if you park on some of the mountain passes, they come and eat anything rubber on the car.

They are protected by law with a very heavy punishment for gun slingers - probably would confiscate you car as well as imprisonment Thumbs Up 2007 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Manual with Premium Pack & Moonroof.

I wasnt sure how to download pictures to my message

So I have popped them in my Gallery - though you cant really see too well!!

I have also included one of the windscreen rubber - though they have actually taken a full chunk out of that!!

I emailed Duckworths this morning - so their response/price should be a giggle!! Rolling with laughter 'Freddie' FL2 2007 GS, Sumatra Black, Manual

one of my ex bosses, a slightly strange chap he was, used to carry a blank firing replica S&W .38 in his car and point/wave it at people when he was cut up by them, normally it was his fault as he drove really badly.

One day he was surrounded by armed police and made to lay on the wet road in pouring down rain as somebody had reported him

Maybe where you are but not in the UK. It is not to be undertaken without caution but crows/magpies/pigeons among others are listed as pests and can be exterminated under open general licence if deemed to be a hazard to crops, livestock, public health et al. It is not legal to shoot for fun and care should be taken that you have landowners permission and that pellets cannot stray to land where permission is not granted.
Perhaps the crows attack you or your pets also?
And no, your car will not be confiscated Rolling Eyes
