Used tyres

I have been offered some used 19" tyres & alloys, mine are almost worn out. Is there any issue with the mechanics of installing half used tyres? They are all worn identically and show no sign of abuse, but thought I read somewhere that if a tyre is worn more than another it may mess up the traction thingy.

If the price is right, it might be worth, even if the rims are what you get for your money. Be careful with regards to balancing though...

Ta for that. I'll get the local garage to check them.

Tyres are not a thing I put to chance, won't touch part worn tyres I will only fit new, I have seen what a tyre can do when it goes and it's not worth taking the risk imho.

I see it as the same when you buy a second hand car. Usually you accept the tyres as OK as long as there is some life left in them.

Not quite, the used ones from the local scrappy could have been removed from a write off vehicle where god nows what they have been through.
