I use the Halfords own basic alloy wheel cleaner. £3.00 for a 5 litre container (buy one and get one free at the mo, so thats 10 litres for £3) if ordered online and picked up in the store. OK, its not the best most powerful stuff I have ever used but it cleaned all my wheels up a treat (and I am sure the insides had not been cleaned from new) and you can use as much as you want without worrying about the cost.
