Why bother with an iPhone Question Question

Agree the GUI is great as are the ergos - but no 3G = v.slow connection speeds = not good enough.

Europe should see a 3G version and by the looks of it Vodafone and T-Mobile (Germany) will be the networks of choice. Hackers have found png's of the networks logos in the phone. Could just be the roaming partners of AT&T though for when the iPhone is used abroad.

I've read that Steve Jobs sayd that in Europe iPHONE will be 3G. Probably with Voda and T-Mobile, maybe with "3".

You disagree? There are plenty of phones that the Nokia PTI kit won't talk to either, but compare the Nokia PTI with the Moto PTI coupled with a phone they'll both function with (my wife's Nokia 6230 for example) and the Moto PTI module gives you much more than the Nokia one.

Sorry, the fact is that sound strange that motorola can work better than a Nokia. I have both for job and Motomobile usually are terrible, the system is fragile and frequently crash or doesn't receive.
Nokia symply works, always and in all conditions. My experience, of course, but the idea that a Moto system can work better than a Nokia is simply funny.

I have read too that in europe iPhone will be 3G.

He didn't and you won't hear if it has until it does Wink Thats Apple's way.

The latest rumour is that O2 have it for the UK Twisted Evil So no rural users then Thud Orange is the only practical operator for good coverage outside of any large conurbation.

Having switched from Orange to O2 I don't have a problem with coverage. The D3 pti has less functionality, but by using the voice operated dialing in the car it means I can have new phones where my wife can't . How come parrot and tom tom don't seem to have problems Neutral Question D4 HSE Lux for me
FL2 HSE Zermatt & Alpacca for the wife now gone
Skoda Yeti L&K for the wife.

I mean 3G technology unstead EDGE. I've read that Seteve described the iPhone ready to be customized for different areas, and ready to be, eventually, 3G for Europe.

If the iPhone does come to Europe with 3G then excellent news - I'm not holding my breath as I'm expecting 2.5G!!! In terms of UK networks I have orange, O2 (work) and Vodaphone (work 3G card for laptop). Orange is by far the best with O2 the worst (at least in the London/Surrey corridor). Very Happy Very Happy

It'll be what it will be. So far there is no official confirmation from Apple that iPhone will ship with 3G support in Europe. Would make sense to of course.

You are right. In the meanwhile here in Europe the interest for iPhone is growing and growing...
Apple increased in only 1m over 14%!!!! After hours excenged over 137$!!!
I hope that in Land Rover understand the phenomena with a fully compatible IPT.

Went into the AppleStore in Saint Louis yesterday and had quite a long play with an iPhone... I want one !

Very nice feel to the product, touch screen works really well - inc using the onscreen keyboard, interface is easy peasy to use, camera suck big time, iPod cover flow really nice - far better than the CoverFlow in iTunes, pinch zoom of images really cool, web browsing is very close to that on a regular computer for speed - but no Flash support yet, zoom in on page section is seamless, rotate device for wide screen is great...

All in all its pretty nice thing to hold in the hand and use.

Shame its so pricey and damn damn shame that its locked to one provider !!

I'm sure that this will be our future gadget for FL2.
I've seen youtube movies and are impressive! The problem that is locked to one provider is a false problem for me. I only need a good provider coverege, better if 3G. I've read that java and flash browser support are coming, of course is only a rumour.
The price doesn't seem so expansive if you look to other, less capable, smart phones.
All other mobile producers must set the iPhone quality standard.

Land Rover, keep in mind iPhone revolution!

It work perfectly with a truck? We are talking about freelander 2. If you mean that this car looks like a truck Big Cry and iPhone works perfectly with that, what you exactely mean? We need a special configuration or simply the BlueTooth card?
