Came out from work this morning and noticed a 8" scratch on the rear door, about halfway up, not deep but down to the basecoat. A white line grinning through my Santorini black is not attractive. I have taken it to a the body shop recomended by the local LR dealers, nearly fainted at the quote, £488.00 plus VAT. I was hoping not to put it through the insurance but at that price I have already lodged the claim, I am just worried about how good the job will be, which is why I picked an LR authorised bodyshop. I know metalics can be tricky to match. Anybody got any horror stories about sub par repairs by LR bodyshops (or tips on how to avoid a bad job)

Be very wary about approved bodyshops especially where an insurance company is concerned. All my vehicles & some of my customers including one very fussy guy use Mechspray in Rochester - 01634 847940. They are a family business & are award winners been trading sinse 1967.

I had a deep scratch and rear bumper scrape [body coloured] by "Chips away".They did an invisible repair. Less than £100 too[It was a merc e class, nearly new ,in a pale metallic blue colour]
