Fl2 Arm rests

Hi, One of the arm rests on my '07 Fl2 is broken. It's in the repair shop now, but Landrover say it wouldn't be covered by warranty, as the pin holding it in is bent. Has anyone else had this problem? Dealership are quoting well over £500 to fix it!!

Hi. Sorry to have to ask, but was the question mark meant to be poignant? If so, I've missed the poignt!! Please explain.

It's irritating as the vehicle is still under warranty. If the pin holding the arm-rest isn't strong enough to bear weight, then is that due to unreasonable use or simply poor design?

the armrest is for just that, for resting an arm on, nothing more, so unless you have very very heavy arm it is damage, which isn't covered under warranty and shouldn't be Confused Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Still £500 for an arm rest Shocked
Is the cost because they have to remove the covering from the seat and thats time consuming?? ( surely the part can't cost that much)
if so an independant upholsterer would be cheaper?

My thought is that it will be a new seat back, with the arm rest attached

but at dealers £100+ an hour labour changes it will soon add up Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

You can't use that logic to decide whether something is under warranty. What about complaints of the wrinkly seat bolsters? or the B pillar trim? Rusty wheel locks etc. They are all designed for a specific purpose, and if not fit for purpose shouldn't they be warranty items? Phil

This lady did not rest her a*** on it, be assured. She simply tried lowering it using the screw adjustment thingy, and then it wouldn't hold position. I would add that the car is in for three repairs just now - the same three it was in for last September!! I think perhaps the pin could have been bent by their workshop.
