Like you I have no 'tourist lever' inside the headlamp so I'm having to fit beam deflectors, but there is no marking on the on the headlight.

Remove headlights, flick tourist lever. Handbook page 32. Mind you, it's quite a procedure and I didn't bother last time I went abroad. Just wound the lights right down and left it at that. |

Forgot that post. Shall have to take mine off sometime now just to see whether or not I've got the lever! |

When I changed from a MY 07 to a MY 13 I asked if it had the same adjusting lever and was assured that it did (by the salesman). It doesn't but it also has the Bi-xenon signature headlights.

Landrover dealers and Landrover technical are not singing from the same hymn sheet.

The problem arises when driving in (eg) Scandinavian countries and now Switzerland where lights are required at all times. If you do not have DRLs then you must use dipped beam. If set wrong it is possible to dazzle.

Dipped beam also required when driving in the rain in German towns, if memory serves...

OK, I finally got round to checking. MY13 with halogen lights and no, there is NO "tourist handle as shown in the handbook. Good old handbook (and it should be the correct one because downloaded from TOPIx, dealer having failed to give me one.) Yes the lights DO have the kick up to the nearside, so they DO need to be masked. However the new lights no longer have a dot at the centre spot so that you can line up the masks.

Exactly, Mike in fairness was only passing on what he had been told but still a poor show.

AA deflectors have a diagram so easy to place them where required despite lack of moulded dot on lens. Works fine for my MY 2013 with halogens. No tourist lever as you correctly state. Might buy some EGR headlight protectors and fit the deflectors onto them. Then just clip on when going abroad. Plus lights protected from rogue stones * GONE. GS TD4 Manual MY2013. Orkney Grey with privacy, cold and clearview packs, armrests (a must!) and a spoiler.

That's helpful - I'll look into getting the AA ones. I've put through another query to Mike at LR asking if he can sort this oput definitively - it really is something they should be working on, at least as regards getting the handbook sorted out. Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone

It appears from the EGR website that they only make protectors up to MY11. Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone
