Heated Windscreen

Just been looking at another FL2 to replace my existing but car I like doesn`t have a heated windscreen

I guess its silly money to have one fitted ? 09 Plate Rimini Red Freelander 2 HSE with Roofrails, Side Mouldings, Sidetubes and Privacy Glass

If all the wiring loom is already on the car, You just have fit the screen (£700.00) plus the 2 fuses (40amp) relays and dash switch etc ??
If the wiring not there the cost would be silly to get it sorted, I would buy a new car with it already fitted or try chicken george ideas ?? Rolling with laughter

I remember many many years ago fitting a stick-on rear screen heater to my Mark 1 Escort.
May be worth looking on fleabay or at an auto jumble, you may pick one up, would be a lot cheaper Embarassed 09 FL2 HSE auto Lago Grey

Sorry to to tell you that if you realy want a heated front screen then the best advise i can give you would be to find a car with one already fitted, any after market one would cost you big bucks as the screen alone is a small morgage best of luck in what you deside to do Banging Head

A friend with a TD5 had a heated windscreen replaced on her car when she broke a non heated one, by autoglass, then took it to the dealer to mod computer.

I had one fitted to my FL1 a couple of years ago. Windscreen £80 brand new from Ebay, Dealer estimated £250 to fit taking one day to complete.

Actual time taken 3 days and then they tried to charge me £450 as the job to retrofit is not an easy one!

I did refuse to pay the extra, they never even tried to argue with me about the extra cost! I felt a bit deflated as I was ready for a battle!!! Very Happy Very Happy

Not sure if the dealers will sort one out but worth asking !
