The Volvo XC60 is the Volvo version of the FL2 /LR2. The LR2 is built on the same Volvo platform using the same V6 petrol engine (minus the optional turbo). Same docking key fob push start setup. Even some of the Halidex AWD system is the same. Of course the Land Rover is tweaked for better off road performance, Rides higher etc..

Check under your front seats (easiest one to locate) or just plain look at your Key fob. I have a North American spec vehicle. V6 gas with every option but Nav, other specs (Country + S,SE, HSE) might have more or less Ford and Volvo parts. I can post pictures when I get some time. |

Under the driver and passenger seats we have a Volvo part on a small box 4cm square 30795503, I've seen other Volvo parts but cannot remember where (Maybe in the boot). I'm not really interested in looking any further Alex but if want more info just ask. |

Really they aren't any more Volvo parts than LR parts. Why should a part number mean a part is inferior or superior. It's a Ford label, nothing more. Now the two are separate companies, all new generation LR's will probably have TATA numbers! 2010MY Freelander 2 HSE Auto

It's not about part numbers, It's about how similar the two vehicles are. The XC60 is the most similar vehicle to the FL2 around. Example: Ford tells it's Land Rover and Volvo subsidiaries - here take this platform, engine and transmission, and this bin of misc parts and build your next entry level SUV. Land Rovers finishes a year before Volvo and includes LR styling, borrowed LR3,RRS bits, and off road bits (Terrain Response etc.). Volvo releases it's XC60 with the Volvo styling with borrowed XC90, S60 bits and safety features ( Auto braking radar etc...). Under the hood the major difference (between V6 LR2 and V6 AWD XC60) is the label on the engine cover. * Freelander/LR2 owners feel free to drive into your local Volvo dealer and pop the hood. |

I don't think Jimmys brother will be that bothered about what stamp is on what ever box or button as I presume he is more interested in the car itself against the FL2
