waxing

Hi All, I have bought my first freelander. Love it. Can anyone tell me best wax to use on it bearing in mind it is only two months old.

Cheers Del Del

I use dodo juice supernatraul and/or collinite 476s when waxing my cars

the collys is cheap and a couple of coats should last ages, iirc Rover60 also took that advice and says he likes it

of course Zymol Royale is said to be good too Whistle Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Blimey he's on a roll!

I use normal hard wax a couple or three times a year.
basically as long as the paintwork is sound you can't wax it too much. Thumbs Up

It's just a pain in the Censored to do but personally, I love spending a few hour cleaning, waxing, polishing me motor.
Yes I know it will be mingin in a few days but I like doing it .

Just ask my missus how easy it is to get me to hoover/dust/clean bathrooms....... Laughing

I know this is am old thread, you can tell by the very old Freelander pictured Laughing

I was pretty impressed a couple of weeks ago when I ran my hand along "Toeknees" wing, it was very smooth and very shiny. So, I thought i would do a little research and look into this wax this gloss that glaze mallarkey and see if anything was really any good.

I spent £17 on a bottle of Werkstat Acrylic Jett, a staggering £154 per gallon to put it into perspective.

Washed the car thoroughly, dried it off via a trip round the M62 Laughing got home and set to work.

It says use sparingly, so I did, very sparingly, very easy simply wipe on and ensure panel is covered evenly, allow 10 mins or so to dry and buff off........... Censored hell....the shine Shocked

I am absolutely in awe of this stuff, if anyone has a new car then get a bottle it is sooo easy and looks stunning, even on my Silver car, hopefully will get some pics tomorrow.

Did the bonnet twice, I was sceptical beforehand but converted, it is seriously good stuff, SWIMBOS Meriva is swirled to death, tried a small patch and most ot the swirls disappeared immediately, might polish it tomorrow and then use the JETT stuff.

So, if I bought some how and when do you apply it?
Does it take the place of a wax polish or do you wash, then wax polish, then apply this stuff?

Not that I'm interested mind you, I just thought others may want to learn from it. Whistle
