I would suspect there is enough clearance for the clamp to fit but upgrading to the Alko AKS 3004 coupling instead maybe easier it works a lot better than the blade and easier to hitch. p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior |

Looking at the picture of the bracket you'll need to fit, i can't see a way round it, safely attaching to the detachable towbar neck,

Definately the Alko route, agreed it's more cost from the start but you can swap it from van to van in the future should you need to, and as said above so much easier to hook up etc |

The only choice you have is to change the towing bracket to a fixed height one or an get an Alko stabiliser. I would recommend the Alko stabiliser as it is much easier to use. Remember when using an Alko stabiliser you must make sure there is no grease on the towing ball. Also you must use a tow ball with a long neck i.e. the Alko tow ball. I am not sure if the Land Rover tow ball is suitable but I am sure someone on this forum can answer that.

I would have had a spare Alko but on the day when I was part exing the trailer I could'nt undo it so had to let it go, gutted as they make between £75 and £140 on auction. It's worth keeping an eye on the auction site, even a set of pads for them are from £10 to £20 should you want to refurb it before fitting. p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior |

Perfectly suitable, once you've taken 20 minutes to sand the paint off the clamping area |

There's quite a few manufacturers of removable tow ball for the freely...mines a LandRover but has a few Brink stickers on it so you don't necessarily have to go for a LR dealer fit. Just to confirm works fine with the Alko - think there's a picture in my gallery

Mines a Brink and works fine, also looks like the one above as LR use Brink but mine looks a little neater IMHO those two electric points cheapen it a tad though looks better with a thirteen pin. p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior |
