press (and hold for a second or so) stop/start button without your foot on the brake (clutch if in a manual car).

Tap start button with foot on clutch (or brake) starts the engine.

engine stops, I did it on the farm lane as an experimental, and my annoying mate did it once as I drove down the road At work
