Timing belt, rubber or chain?

Hello all,
Does anyone know whether the td4 has a timing belt or chain? If so, what is the replacement interval and is it relatively easy as in most petrol engines or is it really painfull and expensive?
Cheers,
Mike

It's a rubber belt and I believe that the change interval is a scarcely believable 150,000 miles (definitely miles, not km). I for one won't be comfortable leaving the belt in place for that long!

Out of interest, does anybody know what the replacement interval is for other vehicles that use the same engine (various Peugeots, Citroens, Mitsubishi Outlander 2.2 etc)

On my old pug 306HDI the belt was garanteed by Peugeot for 90,000 miles. ______________________

Its a rubber belt driving exhaust camshaft as well as the coolent pump from the crankshaft. Then there's a chain belt between the exhaus camshaft and the intake cam. Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto
