Not sure about that but I once got down to 0 miles showing on the computer and it went into low power mode. I think that means the engine will cut out in about 2 miles to stop the tank running dry. I just made it to the filling station.

Depends when you last set the trip. If you've just reset it and floored the pedal, the range will drop dramatically then slowly creep back up. Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice. |

I reset trip at the previous fill - about 350 miles earlier - i.e. not recently. |

I arrived on Isle of Mull with a full tank, drove 200 miles on single track roads mostly at night. I was driving as fast as conditions allowed so not very ecconomical.

In my case I had driven on mainly A-class roads for a whole tank full of fuel. My driving style varies very little (light right foot) and the type of roads I drive on are generally A and B roads. In other words, there is no reason why the OBC should not show a pretty accurate indication of what is left in the tank. AFIIRC 1/4 tank at my average consumption (according to OBC) should equate to about 110 miles. But this misses my point which is as previously stated, i.e. most cars allow a large safety margin whereas my FL2 would almost cartainly run out of fuel before the fuel gauge needle got anywhere near the zero mark. However, it is not an experiment that I am inclined to attempt because of the risk of backfiring and damage to the catalyst that would follow. |

yes mine is similar and the warning light comes on usually about 60 miles range left, but again this figure is dependant on your driving style up to that point. Iain |

I've noticed previously that, whilst overall the gauge isn't bad, when it's into the last quarter tank it (and the electronic 'miles range left') seem to drop much faster than should be the case. Brian

Andy, let us know if software update makes any difference. My experience of software updates (particularly with Volvo) is that it is like the doctor's friend - the virus - in that it is what they fall back on when they don't really know what is causing a problem. |
