Here are just a couple small examples of the fun I've had with mine here in Texas.

Some of you may have seen these before. I carry a gun because I can't carry a cop.
Ted Kennedy's car has killed more people than my gun.

Ok I'm going to breifly hijack this thread.

Please forgive me because I'm curious of what the different characters on a number plate in the UK represent. I noticed y'all talking about a "60 plate" and I've heard Top Gear talking about different types of plates.

When I was in the UK I saw a police program talking about how there has never been, nor will there ever be an "8" character in the 3rd position.

Here is the plate from my rental car in August.

Someone please decode:

Also, as an added note, that car made me wish so badly that my Freelander 2 had a diesel. It got great mileage, had decent power and a lot of torque. Am I correct to say the Volvo XC60 has the same diesel as a Freelander 2?

The registration plate is best explained here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vehicle_regis...ent_system and your volvo was registered between 1 Mar 2009 and 30 Aug 2009 inclusive. In theory an 8 character should be ok in the 3rd position unless there will be a specific reason not to.

The XC60 has two diesel engine specs, the 2.4D and D5, although they are both the same engine, just the D5 is tuned for more bhp. The D5 has 4 wheel drive. Torque wise, they are the same and is 20Nm more than the 2.2 diesel in the FL2. In short, no not the same Smile Phil

Thank you, I've been curious of that since August, I suppose I could have looked it up myself though ha ha ha

Hindsight is 20/20 I'm told. I carry a gun because I can't carry a cop.

United Kingdom 2010 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto Galway Green

Just been to Toyota dealers as son wanted a toyaota Prius (i couldnt get him insured for my D3 or the new FL2 at a sensible price so the only logical option was to buy him a car of his own Sad

We bought him a 2008 Toyota Prius and i was fairly impressed with the car..it did have a similar (anoying) key system to the fl2 but the sat nav was great and i liked the reverse camera that switched from sat nav screen to a cctv view behind the car...maybe a gadget,,,,but would have like that on my new FL2...... Big Cry Sept 1 2010 Now the PROUD owner of Galway Green Auto Diesel HSE
