New owner a few Q's....

Halogens Lights

Bit late now, but this is the first car I have bought in the past 10 years which has quaint halogen lights rather than xenons. (Couldn't find a car with them, unless factory order). So are they any good?

Can a retro be done with OEM parts or is it too costly?

Side steps

Mu last few Landies have the side steps fitted, not only to help my wife/mums to get in, but also to prtotect the seat side bolster from getting too worn and collapsing. So what do peeps think. Sidesteps are required or is the car not really high enough to warrant them? Are peeps finding the seat cushions collapsing?

Bluetootrh

Does the Iphone 3GS work with the FL2?

car seats

Anyone use the maxi-cosi Priorifix car seat in their FL2?

Thanks.

Re: New owner a few Q's....

Halogens Lights
I found them ok in my last car, but upgraded them with the Xenon H7 aftermarket bulbs in the end

Speak with sponsor 10forcash, you could have OEM xenons retro fitted for £££

Side steps
Been 6' 3" I found i never stood on the side steps in loan cars i had, but then made me have to step in from further out which was a PITA

If they are all as small as chicken georges wife then maybe it will help

Bluetootrh
My 3GS works fine with the FL2?

car seats
I use recaro monza seatfix for the 4yr old, and a Maxi Cosy(not sure on model) for the 1yr old, bith fit ok, but the headrest has started to get in the way of the Recaro one, so i may have to remove the headrest.

Hope that helps Thumbs Up Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

I've got the pro-active Bi- xenons but I don't notice much movement on corners

I can't say i notice too much, not town driving anyway,

They do have an inprovement when i hit the country lanes near me, but i don't do too much driving in the dark to be honest.

They might be better in town if they had the extra bulb that comes on, but alass they don't Wink Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

I use the side steps all the time, as does my wife. However, it doesn't eliminate squashing the bolsters as due to the design of the car/seats, you climb into it from the side, rather than climb down onto it like normal cars, if you know what I mean.

I use a maxi-cosi axiss which is similar to priorifix in size, maybe even bigger and have no problems. Since you're using the isofix points, it should fit better but have you bought the seat yet? Try it out before buying. Phil

Thanks chaps. Yes, already have the seat. It fitted in my Disco 3 and Rangie Sport, so don't see why it wouldn't fit in the FL2.

Sidesteps, still pondering......

I agree with Mr pinks the side steps can more of a nuisance if you don't use them as you need to step into the car from further away as I do. I like the high driving position of the FL2 but my wife has an above knee amputation of the left leg and she would find it impossible to get in without using the step on her side

Side steps more of a nuisance when exiting car as you have to step over them and dirty back of trousers in process. My other half insisted and I agreed new one last month not fitted with steps, don't miss then at all. All FL2's (3) Gone

Yup agreed, no side steps.

Just had a look at a FL2 and although the car is high enough off the ground to warrant sidesteps, the roofline once up on the step is too low to try and squeeze in.

i think side bars fill the space in between the wheels nicely though, giving a slightly lower appearence

In my opinion they make the car look nicer too Thumbs Up
