First question is quite simple: Should the HDC switch be illuminated when the car's lights are on?

Second: What's the deepest snow that anyone's managed to drive through? What I'm talking about is where snow has drifted and it's untouched virgin stuff. My old N*****n T*****o with BFG AT tyres could cope with shortish distances of say 100mtrs at about 75cm deep, but got stumped when the snow came over the top of the bonnet and built up underneath.

Not sure about the first question as its not something I have bothered to check before although when I go out tonight I will take a look.

As for the second question it can depend to some extent on the tyres. If you fit high quality winter/snow tyres or the snow chain/traction system as show on the LR accessories website then you will get through deeper snow.

There are limits of course based upon the lack of ground clearance compared to Discos etc but I have seen good performance with the wrangler all weather tyres fitted as standard.

I managed to plough into some deep snow approx 2 feet on my grass verge before safely reversing out of it and onto my driveway. Check out the below pics of my parking in supermarket and town centre car parks, the snow was easily touching the underside of the car but posed no problems.

Oh, your first question, No the HDC switch is not illuminated, only indicated on the instrument panel when on.
