Bloody hell if you are that bored my living room needs decorating........

I did once many years ago attempt to reset the mileometer before turning a corner thus getting my wrist caught and unable to turn the wheel.

It led to a painful and panic stricken few seconds Whistle

I had this one while driving out of the petrol station. It was a close miss to the wall beside the road. Whistle 2010 Freelander 2 Select TD4 auto....gone

Reminds me of the late (and very funny) John Candy in the film Planes, Trains and Automobiles. After their flight was cancelled Candy was sharing a car with Steve Martin, night time Martin was asleep and Candy who was driving decided to take his jacket off without stopping the car, couldn't get his arms out of the jacket sleeves and eventually got both hands stuck behind him in the seat mechanism and the car crashed and came to a halt - the next shot was from the front of the car looking at both of them in shock and Martin prised his fingers out of the top of the dash board Rolling with laughter mega funny I'm laughing while I'm writing this down Rolling with laughter

A pal used to drive one of those outside broadcast rigs - whilst hanging around endlessly he fiddled about with the centre boss on the steering wheel. After a lot of broken fingernails the cover came off to reveal a very neatly written note saying "nosy barsteward" or words to that effect. MY 09 GS manual in Lago Grey, Wood Co arm rest and side bumper strips - now sold.

Years ago we had a few Bedford Isuzu pick ups as service vans and they had a hand throttle you could wind on fully just be turning a button on the dash - Of course we'd never dream of turning the car off, winding the accelerator full on, locking it up so that your mate who jumped in it next got a surprise Whistle

Another mate was driving his beetle when the passenger found that the throttle linkage extends to the passenger footwell, he pressed it , the car sped up and they crashed.... quite badly, ambulances and hospital type of crash At work

Back at the times of the uni I was driving a mates beetle (1976 or so) in the city. I was making a left turn and I needed to back up a bit to be able to make the turn. I suddenly decided if I could just push the steering wheel a bit more I could make the turn.

Well I got a big BANG sound from somewhere front and made the turn, but after that we had a free play of almost a 1/2 turn on the steering wheel on the car. Rolling with laughter

We used to go to a service guy and he used to fix something under the car, and then we would get the steering somewhat ok for a few days. Later it would loosen up again and we would get the freeplay back.

We've never crashed with the thing, and drove the car like that anywhere. Rolling with laughter

I got a lot of other funny stories with that car as well. Laughing 2010 Freelander 2 Select TD4 auto....gone
