driving home through Glencoe, it was reading 27mpg and i turned the aircon off and it jumped to 31mpg, obviously in the dark it was a steady 50 -60 mph, so i thought cool, the aircon does eat fuel and its going to be better mpg on way home, but then to find it 1mpg less is a bit strange as i drove roughly the same speed on the way home, and its downhill from scotland Laughing Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Yes. but Glencoe, south is uphill anf then you have the twisty bits near the top, by the waterfall. Once you get near Kingshouse, it's pretty much downhill, got to be said and the roadway is fast. You can see all the Fliths Vascar markings on the road!

United Kingdom 2009 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto Stornoway Grey

Ye it's a beautiful piece of road. I was up there in ours with mum and brother, and a weeks worth of kit last summer, averaged 36mpg over 1500 miles in a week, but I didn't go over 70, unless I was overtaking sometimes. Air con on all the time, and had to drive in chauffeur mode as the other 2 get car sick! Mine: 2012 Golf GTI Edition 35
Family's: 2009 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Auto, Stornoway
