As the title, I have large patches of rust on my front brake calipers. Does anyone think this is claimable under warrenty. Don't put petrol in a diesel. They don't run well. |

Get out and give her a few good brakings. They should be gone.

It isn't the disks that are rusty, the calipers (they're the bits that apply the braking force of the pads to the disks) Phil |

pw, it's the caliper body your talking I would guess they are cast steel (Can't see them being SG iron due to the safety critical nature of the product) seems they are coated in a currosion preventative such as dipping into zinc but if a particular area of your caliper has started to rust prior to protection being added then it will just keep rusting - it's hardly going to fall to pieces so it's just cosmetic but with it being 'on view' all the time I'd talk to a local dealer with a view to having it replaced or cleaned and painted as a minimum. |

Thanks Mcpherson, SWMBO, WOrks for Continental Teves and makes many OEM brakes, All there's are galvanised and carry a 3 year anti corrosion warranty, They do not supply to Landrover unfortunately.
