In the interests of managing everyone’s expectations, when I refer to Gaydon, we wouldn’t be able to get on to the factory site. We can of course visit the Heritage Museum which is next door and carries quite a few historic BL related vehicles; however you’re unlikely to bump into anything too exciting. There is a big car park which they cordoned off for the RRS meet. It’s not associated with Land Rover so I’m not sure what the situation is with the off road course. I believe that there is an event coordinator there, therefore if plans progress then they would be worth contacting.

Hopefully 'expectations' are now on track, as I wouldn't want anyone coming from too far away expecting to get behind the drawing board of the next FL2!

Still happy for LPR to be a meeting venue. Happy to organise some of it, but quite tied up with March at the moment. Will be able to look at it again once the dust has settled after March.

Combined FL2 / RRS Meet (South)

We will be going for Saturday 24th July for a 'south meet', and it will be a combined RRS / FL2 event. The format for the day would be to meet at LPR mid-morning for teas and coffee's etc and to look around the cars, then we will arrange a 2nd meeting point (possibly on or near the coast) which will allow for a drive (not a cruise/convoy Whistle ).

I will look after the initial meet at LPR and hopefully someone can help with the 2nd meeting point for a pic-nic. A drive across the Plain would not be suitable for that number of vehicles, however it may be possible to choose a couple of nav points to drive between which will take you along rough gravel tank roads which in itself is quite picturesque. If anyone wants to arrange their own small groups for 'green laning' then this would need to be arranged between yourselves.

By the sounds of it we could have in the region of 50-60 cars which would be great, and if the weather is nice then a pic-nic would be good fun.

Rough format would be:

10:00 Arrive at LPR
10:45 Depart for a pre-agreed destination (Sat Nav needed or pair up with someone with nav)
1:00 Arrive for Pic-Nic
3:00 Depart home

Any other suggestions are more than welcome!
