To be pedantic that should read Cars registered in the 1 March–31 August period are the last two digits of the year: 2006 - 06, 2010 - 10, etc. Cars registered in the 1 September–28 February period are the last two digits of the year PLUS 50: 2006/2007 - 56, 2010/2011 - 60, etc. ![]() |

No, our 60 plates don't come out until 1st september 2010, your car will probaly be a 59 if you bought it after the 1st of september 2009. to help you understand our plates will be like this

From around 1963 until 2001 the British plates were so much easier to understand & far better when the alphabet was used as a prefix or suffix & were issued annually on the 1st of August until 1998 when the six monthly thing started.
