As I posted back in February, I will not tolerate bullying or abuse on this forum, and will take action where necessary. Actions have been taken this morning to suspend one particular long-term headache from the forum.

As has been noted, the post reports system is there to be used to flag bad behaviour to the mod team - it's not just for reporting spam. Please use it - don't let problems build up or "bite back", as you're only likely to aggravate the situation.

Freel2 should be a welcoming, informative place for Freelander 2 discussions, with a dedicated area for friendly off-topic conversations. If you don't agree with this, and wish to counteract this ethos with your contributions, then stay away.

I am no saint but if this has anything to do with yesterday it was shameful, a new member abused in that way, nothing short of bullying. Ok he should not have used the language he did but this was in retaliation.

I must have lived a sheltered life as I couldn't see what was in his name, must have meant something to someone.

Farewell...

Martin

I have politely written to you on two previous occasions obout the behaviour on your website, yet it continues again and again. You seem unable or unwilling to take the simplest of advice from anyone and fail to moderate ...indeed you seem to actively encourage the so-called moderator and others to reply annoying off-topic one-liners to just-about every single post.

You have responded to myself that this is because you like to encouraging friendly banter ...yet it does not seem to sink-in that IT IS ALWAYS THE SO CALLED FRIENDLY BANTER WHICH DETERIORATES INTO OUTRIGHT RUDENESS AND INSULTS ...which is nearly always generated the same group of people, and here it is again.

Meanwhile the average landrover enthusiast who has something to contribute is put-off. Can you not see that this means you will never get true open sharing between the broader group of normal polite landrover enthusiasts. Have you no responsibility? - your 'selective' action just makes the problem worse. Your good-self, along with a proper website moderator COULD do much more e.g. install a moderator that does not contribute, who perhaps knows nothing/little about Landrovers, who's job it is to simply ...er moderate!?

Some months ago i lost interest in contributing anything to do with Landrovers and instead i now only visit here (rather ashamedly) 'for the entertainment value' of the fights.

So could you please delete my username/account from this site - i can get all the entertainment i require as a guest voyeur/visitor etc - which i should probably thank-you for.

If you are interested (which i do-not believe you are) there is a very interesting debate going-on in the wider press about modern/internet/networking communication websites and their negative effect upon human behaviour, which is especially bad within Twitter at present. I am afraid that your website (which should be about Landrovers) has given much insight into that debate and continues to provide lots of material.

btw - the exchange between one of your gang who wanted others to post their personal photographs was interesting and hilarious, especially when he/she got miffed that the fellow clique would not play ball. That was just a funny example, which i enjoyed reading, however others such as this thread or the recent 'race row' are simply examples of the disgusting behaviour that recurs on your website on a regular basis. None of which has anything to do with Landrovers.

So no drama, i choose to vote with my feet, thank-you again and keep up the good work - i shall be viewing from afar.

cue the insults...

:o/

Thanks for your comments, I notice you're another member to hides behind absolutely no profile information and "UK" as their location. A further alias I assume.

I can only presume from your comments that you're not actually reading what I post about behaviour and standards, solely hitting the keyboard when another opportunity to criticise the site and its management arises.

I'm never going to please everyone - some want 100% on topic with absolutely no "chat", and some want to have the site as a place to socialise. There's a compromise to be made, and I feel that, overall, this is maintained.

As with any group of people, there are clashes and differences of opinion, but these are few and dealt with promptly. However it is the minority of people such as you, who have confessed a desire for arguments on here, which makes the job of moderating the site more difficult and spoil the site for the majority.

I've always maintained the same stance on site behaviour - it should be friendly, but never rude or argumentative. So you're, again, fabricating an issue which simply doesn't exist.

Blimey, I go away for a few days and you lot kick off again!
For goodness sake get a life.

My old Dad always said to me that if you don't like something then either change it or stop doing it. I would think that by far the majority of members on this site think it's generally fine, ( nothing is perfect in this life!) and if that is the case then if you don't like it then go away.
Martin and Nick must wonder what they are doing sometimes perhaps they are practicing for running a cresh!

I want the last word Cool

10/10 to the moderators on this. Didn't see the original start to the thread in february but it's true and the right thing to do!

I find it a friendly forum and enjoy it quite a bit, there's alot more sense talked and 'friendly' banter than I've found on the other forum I take an interest in (non LR related and no I. not going to say which!)

However, it is a shame it needs to be moderated in tbe first place to the recent extent.

There is a difference between banter and abuse. I've enjoyed the former on this site and have seen very little of the latter. There's another forum I can think of where some members can be gratuitously abusive even when apparently sober. I think you've done a good job in keeping them out. Could be because they're too busy abusing each other to go out and earn enough money to by a Freely 2, of course.
Everyone needs a sense of humour. Mind you I might think differently if I were a caravan owner... Whistle
