Any good polish should get light scratches out but if you can feel the scratch with you finger nail you won't get it out yourself(unless your a bodyshop fella). I've used autoglym super resin polish followed by gloss protect which worked well but there are lots of other good polishes out there.

I was told by a Body Sprayer that the paint nowadays is weaker a lot due to the fact that it is now waterbased. Fords were among the first to go down this route and a long time ago I had a Mondeo and it was black also and the paint was weak on that one, it looked tatty after a while and got shot after two years. p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior |

Thanks guys.have used autoglym on my cars for years and it did a pretty good job.with this motor tho it seems like every time i get back to the car another scratch shows up.had a metallic black rover 623 back in the early 90`s and the paint was way tougher than this. MY2009 2.2 td4 se

Land Rover have won accolades for their paint finish - most notably from the globally respected J.D:Power. Their paint finish is with the industries best - but - it isn't scratch proof - none are |

I'm Wondering how ROVERLAND goes on with scratches to his film coating? or whether it's scrath proof ? He can obviously just have a panel re-covered if Not. |

I don`t expect scratch proof paint, just seems not to be very durable on a car that is supposed to go off-road once in a while.looks like the marks have been made by people brushing past possibly.the actual paint job itself is very good,i luv the car, which is why i`m so off by the paint. Ours was full of light scratches when I bought it so I had the paint "corrected" - the guy took a LOT of measurements on the thickness of the paint all over teh car then buffed the crap out of it - looks better then new now.
