Calling All Scottish Freelander owners (F1 or F2) | |
The Scottish Land Rover Owners Club are running a charity green road run (ie your car will be on hard core tracks and trails, no offroading) on the 3rd June in Glen Shira. The event is to raise £500 for the Anthony Nolan Trust and is open to members and non members. Cost is your donation to the charity - but usually we are charged £15 for any SLROC event so not less than that!
The Start Location is 1.5 miles north of Inverary at the graveyard carpark at the head of Loch Shira. Start is 1030/1100, bring your family/ friends, camera, picnic and wallet! The drive is not a long one but follow Hydroboard private tracks up Glen Shira to the dam, drive across the dam and then we head off along the upper reservoir of the pump storage system into the wilds for the lunch stop. Sometimes we have a Hydroboard manager with us who has the keys to the generator house and to the inside of the dam................................. The tracks are suitable for any Land Rover, old or new - bashed or shiney - big or small (even your remote control toy Freelander/Defender can handle this run if the batteries hold out!). You won't even need Low ratio or HDC. This is a family drive out into the countryside.
