Thats because too many people on that deal and a better future assured value were actually handing their cars back, than make the final payment. This led to a lot of used FL2's at the auction houses and forced the price of a used FL2 down, not up. Why pay some punter with his part ex good money, when you can have the same at a restricted entry auction?

Dealers, without exception, shove on between 3k to 5k on a second hand car they have purchased. Look at one guy here that recently got 16.1k for his 2009MY XS and the dealers now has it on display on his forecourt, minus a lot of the extras that were on it when purchased for ......20,999........ Can't be many in Martinique blue, so you'll see it if you search on the LR site. I suppose someone has to pay for the leather suite and Plasma in the reception!

Buying a car is our second biggest purchase as a rule. These dealers are making a mint, booking their Bahama holiday on the backs of your orders, you parting with hard earned cash. Come the revolution brothers.............

I've had a text message from my dealers today which says " ... Urgently require pre owned Land rover stock due to exceptional demand. Please call for a FREE VALUATION"
I'd think it would be free? I'm not selling a house! Indus Silver

United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Sumatra Black

Whilst at the dealers the other day for 3 year service, I thought I'd ask out of interest what I could get as trade-in for mine. They were VERY interested to talk about that. It seems they have virtually no used FL2 stock with unprecedented demand. Apparently, they've had BMW "4WD" owners coming in for trade-in towards a car that is actually some use in snow. Ner Ner "They don't like it up 'em, Captain Mannering!"
Still waiting for my valuation.... trying to restrain my optimism as I know I'll probably be insulted.

I think we are now seeing a turn again - nearly new FL2s are coming back at sensible prices - although one stealer I spoke to as I was interested in one of his GSs said we've just cut a grand off it and price is not negotiable..at that point I said 'goodbye my friend'..I will take my hard earned elsewhere - I hate stealers who speak to me in that way trying to stitch me up before we start... haha they lost out

We like story's like that Laughing I would have been polite but not called the salesperson ''my friend'', probably more along the lines of ''Clearly this dealership is selling so many cars that you are not interested in my money...I'll make sure that everyone I discuss this with is aware of that fact'' Thumbs Up

I am on my 14th new car in black. I can remember having a blue Hillman Imp in the late 70's. I had black before CG! before it became fashionable.

So much style, you had to put your shades on to reply! You wouldn't have won the Best Looking Freelander Comp if I'd known or taken part in it. I was always told to be modest! Twisted Evil
